The World Press Federation UK today unveiled its modernized press accreditation system, establishing a new gold standard for security, verification speed, and digital utility for journalists operating across Britain.
Key Enhancements to Press Credentials
Starting this quarter, all accredited members will receive access to dual-format credentials:
- Encrypted NFC Smart Cards: Featuring tamper-evident guilloche patterns, tactile micro-lettering, and instant contactless NFC interrogation for gate controllers.
- Passkey-Protected Wallet Passes: Dynamic mobile passes that sync with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, generating single-use rolling verification codes for high-security venues.
Speaking on the launch, the WPFUK Governance Board reiterated its pledge to champion fair working conditions, immediate legal defense assistance, and frictionless press access for all certified professionals.
